Q. Why did you join Animal Eye Clinic?
Dr. Zeliger: It was apparent from the first conversation I had that Animal Eye Clinic prioritizes not only having the best patient care possible, but having a happy and healthy work environment that allows everyone to perform their best. Everyone has been so warm and welcoming and its evident how passionate the entire team is about each pet’s care.
Q. Describe why pets are important to you/how have pets changed or influenced you?
Dr. Zeliger: I have had dogs my entire life and those relationships have been monumental in my development, so I knew from very early on that I wanted to work in veterinary medicine. To many people, including myself, pets are family and it’s important to me to be able to be an advocate for them as they are unable to advocate for themselves.
Q. What are you passionate about?
Dr. Zeliger: I am most passionate about providing patient comfort and maintaining vision for as long as possible. Outside of ophthalmology, my biggest passions are sustainability, living consciously, health, and fitness.
Q. What is your education/where did you go to school?
Dr. Zeliger: I graduated from UC Santa Barbara with a B.S. in Biology. I then went to Ross University for veterinary school and did my clinical year at Colorado State University. I did my small animal rotating internship and an Ophthalmology specialty internship at the University of Minnesota prior to coming here.
Q. What do you enjoy doing?
Dr. Zeliger: Some of my favorite things to do are cooking, working out, and rollerblading with my dog and partner, although my guilty pleasure is reality TV.
Q. What are three things on your bucket list?
Dr. Zeliger: Three things on my bucket list are to go to Italy, see the northern lights, and build my own homestead to live on.
