At Animal Eye Clinic, we are obsessed with pet eyes and vision. Service dogs hold a special place in our hearts, because they perform critical support including therapy, search and rescue, and assistance for people with disabilities.
Once a year, the ACVO/StokesRx National Service Animal Eye Exam Event offers free screening-wellness eye exams to qualified Service and Working Animals. This event is for formally trained animals that are currently working and have written proof of training. The purpose of these exams is to detect and prevent eye problems. This event is organized by ACVO (or American College of Veterinary Ophthalmologists) and Stokes Pharmacy, which is a nationwide compounding pharmacy.
Animal Eye Clinic is proud to support this event by offering free eye exams at our clinic. Here is what you need to do:
Step 1: Register your Service or Working Animal for the event, by completing the AVCO registration form.
Step 2: After registration, you will receive a confirmation e-mail with information on how to schedule an appointment with us.
Step 3: Schedule your appointment with Dr. Rachel Davis at Animal Eye Clinic.
The exam requires no sedation, requires minimal restraint, is non-painful, non-stressful, and usually takes 10-25 minutes. If eye problems are detected during the free exam, Dr. Davis will discuss the condition, but it may be necessary to schedule a separate treatment appointment.
Help detect and prevent eye problems for our amazing service dogs! Please register soon. Registration closes on April 30th, 2018. Additional event information is available at acvoeyeexam.org.
